What is Cerezen?

Cerezen is a revolutionary medical device that effectively treats TMD and associated symptoms such as Jaw Pain, Clenching and Headaches.

Clinically proven and almost invisible, the Cerezen devices can be worn day or night. They’re comfortable because they’re custom-made for you.

These conditions are often collectively known as Temporomandibular Disorders or TMD.

The two custom-made, 3D printed hollow inserts sit comfortably in each ear canal; the nearest access point to the temporomandibular joint.

The Science Behind CerezenTM

When you move your jaw, your ear canal opens and closes. As the ear canal is so close to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), it makes it the perfect place to target the source of your symptoms.

When your customised Cerezen devices are inserted into the ear canal, they retain the shape of your ear canal in the open jaw position because they are made from a 3D printed rigid material.

They effectively encourage the jaw to return to a relaxed position.

Choose CerezenTM

“The concern with a bite splint is that we’re not actually telling our patients to stop biting, we’re just saying they can bite down on this and they’re not going to cause any damage to their teeth. What I would like to do, is to prevent my patients from doing it in the first place. That’s why Cerezen is unique and really effective – because we’re stopping the source of the problem.”

Your questions answered

How do I find out where I can get Cerezen?

Ask your dentist, or contact us today to help find a dental provider near you.

When can I be fitted for a Cerezen device?

First, you need to have been diagnosed with teeth grinding or TMD by your healthcare provider. Once that has happened they can take your ear impressions, or refer you to another professional who can do it.

Will wearing Cerezen affect my hearing?

Because each device is hollow, sound waves can enter your ear as normal and your hearing will not diminish. There may be a slight alteration in tone, but not in volume.

Are there any potential complications if I use Cerezen?

Feedback from clinical trials was exclusively positive. Each custom-made Cerezen ear insert ensures comfort during wear as well as ease of fitting and removal. They’re made from medical grade polymers that have been safely used in hearing aids for decades.

How can I be absolutely sure Cerezen is safe?

Cerezen devices are a conservative and completely reversible treatment. They can be removed easily, and do not affect the ears.

Someone I know uses Cerezen. Can we share? Does one size fit all?

No. Each set of devices is custom fitted and 3D printed specifically for each patient.

How will I know which ear to put the devices in?

Both earpieces are colour coded. The one for the right ear is marked with a red dot, and the one for the left is marked with a blue dot.

Do I have to wear the devices in both ears?

Yes. Wearing both devices simultaneously is recommended.

Can I wear the Cerezen devices in the shower / bath / swimming pool and when I’m playing contact sports?

No. It’s advisable to take the Cerezen devices out when you’re swimming, bathing, or playing contact sports.

Can I keep Cerezen devices in all day every day, 24/7?

As long as you’re not swimming, bathing, showering, or playing contact sports, Cerezen devices are completely safe to wear continuously. In the unlikely event that you experience any discomfort, remove the devices. We’d also recommend you remove your devices once a day in order to clean them.

Is Cerezen covered by medical insurance?

Cerezen is covered by some insurance providers.
